How much does your man love your cat?

Just for fun… the first ever menandcats.com quiz!

You’re out of cat food and you ask your man to run out and get some. He:

Goes to the bodega across the street and gets some “Alley Cat” generic cat food for $1.49. The cat subsequently gets diarrhea.

Goes to the vet’s office on the other side of town and gets the cat the specially formulated, organic human-grade food that your cat eats.

Walks six blocks to the pet food store but can’t remember exactly what brand/formula the cat eats. He gets the wrong type of cat food, but it’s close to what the cat usually eats.

Your cat vomits in the middle of the night. Being a heavy sleeper, you don’t hear it, but your man does. He:

Cleans it up and stays up with the cat to make sure she’s feeling OK. Then, since he’s already awake, he makes you coffee, pancakes and fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Cleans up the cat vomit, and tells you about it the next morning, continuing to complain about it for the rest of the day.

Wakes you up so you can get out of bed and clean up the cat vomit, then rolls over and goes back to sleep.

You come home after being gone all day while your man and cat have been at home. They are:

In separate rooms, totally unaware of each other’s existence.

Curled up together in their favorite chair, your man reading the newspaper and your cat purring contentedly.

In the same general area, each doing his own thing.

Your beloved cat has unexpectedly gone missing!! Your man:

Wishes you “good luck with that” and goes back to watching the game.

Helps you make a “Lost Cat” poster.

Combs the neighborhood with you, shaking a can of cat treats, while plastering every telephone poll with “Lost” posters, and offers up $100 of his own money as a reward.

Every time you pass by a pet store, vet’s office, or cat clinic, you stop and coo over the kittens. Your man:

Lets you coo for five minutes, before gently reminding you that you already have several cats at home and can’t adopt any more pets given your lack of space.

Impatiently looks at his watch and starts walking faster.

Points out just how adorable that little grey kitty is in the corner, then goes into the vet’s office and volunteers to go in once a week and clean out the cat cages.

You’re not feeling well and really don’t feel like scooping the litter box. Your man:

Agrees to scoop the litter box THIS ONE TIME and then makes you promise to take out the garbage for the next two months in exchange for this favor.

He throws out the old litter, cleans the box, and fills it with fresh litter – the brand your cats prefer.

Says “that’s too bad” and then reminds you that he has carpal tunnel syndrome and can’t lift anything.

It’s your cat’s birthday! Your man:

Gives your kitty a special birthday “cake” made out of tuna.

Doesn't realize this fact

Sings “Happy Birthday" to the cat

You have some cat fur on your sweater. Your man:

Lovingly picks a bit of Fluffy’s fur off your sweater, and sighs and says, “I miss Fluffy. Let’s go home and snuggle with him.”

Laughs about how that tortoiseshell cat hair manages to show up on light AND dark clothing.

Hands you a lint brush and points.

Your man has a nickname for your cat.

He has five nicknames for the cat – two of which he won’t even tell you about.

2. What’s out there, around here, is absolutely not do-able in any way, shape, or form.

Picked my man because a notorious feral in the neighborhood walked up to him and jumped up on his lap. He immediately called me to pick up a litter box and premium food. I didn’t know that he was a keeper until then.

My man was nervous for meeting my parents – but while meeting them, it was more important that my/their cats approved him. Humans can be always BSed, cats can’t.
So for any man/womanless person out there, if you have cats, make sure they approve the person. I’d never be with someone the cats would freak out to be with.
